A Cooler Newberry
Now that most of the heat of summer has passed and the weather is turning
cooler, the area begins to set our collective eyes ahead to fall and Christmas. There are several events that are occurring in the Newberry area in the coming months that local businesses should be aware of. If you have any that you would like to feature, please email us at [email protected].
To help create a festive atmosphere, please decorate your business with cool, white Christmas lights and create a Christmas window display. There will be a Christmas decorating contest this year for homes that really embrace the holiday spirit, check our Facebook page for more information that will be coming soon.
Newberry Main Street Annual Fall Festival
The Fall Festival will be held on November 20th in the downtown area. The Newberry Main Street Organization manages this event and also are the people to thank for the autumn-themed decorations that are put up throughout the downtown area.
Newberry Lions Club Rodeo
The same weekend as the Fall Festival on the nights of November 19th and 20th is the Newberry Lions Club Rodeo. Held at CountryWay Town Square, the rodeo features two evenings of professional bull-riding, cow-roping, and other cowboy activities.
City of Newberry Christmas Tree Lighting
December 3rd is the Christmas Tree Lighting. Held at the Newberry City Hall, the fun event is a way to dive into the Christmas season.
Christmas Parade and Festival
December 19th – The annual Christmas Parade starts at 5:00 PM and makes its way through downtown features floats, horses, and the arrival of Santa. After the parade, holiday enthusiasts can head over to CountryWay Town Square for music, food, and many fun activities.
Town of Tioga
The Tioga Town Center will have many activities this season, including a Christmas tree lighting, Santa visits and more. Check out their website or Facebook page for more information.
